With one of us having spent years serving individuals navigating transitions out of foster care, homelessness, incarceration, substance abuse recovery, and mental health treatment, and the other having received lifelong support through medical healthcare and aging and disability services, we have witnessed firsthand the gaps that exist between the support traditionally offered by the Church and social service systems, and the deeper needs of those experiencing significant physical, emotional, and spiritual distress.
